Phase 3 Section to Open Weekend of October 4th…
The Missouri Department of Transportation and St. Charles County have announced details for the public to get a chance to walk, run or ride their bike on the first section of Route 364/Page Phase 3 before it opens to traffic. The new Route 364 will be open to the public between Interstate 64 and Route K on Saturday, October 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Access to the road will be free of charge during that time, but people are asked to bring a canned food donation for Operation Food Search. All donations collected will be kept in the St. Charles County area. Operation Food Search distributes 2.75 million pounds of food monthly to 25 counties in Missouri and Illinois.
In addition to the public event, running enthusiasts can sign up to participate in the One Shot and Done 5K run sponsored by St. Charles Kiwanis and Fleet Feet. Those interested in that event will have to register online at http://www.phase3run.itsyourrace.com/.
The current schedule for public events is as follows:
• 7:30 a.m. – One Shot and Done 5K Run. Details on cost, where to meet and registration are available online at http://www.phase3run.itsyourrace.com.
• 11 a.m. – The road opens to the public for walking, running and biking from Interstate 64 to Route K.
• 2 p.m. – Ribbon cutting ceremony begins.
• 3 p.m. – The road closes to the public to get ready for opening road to traffic in the evening.
Parking for the public event is available at several locations along the new corridor:
•• Dardenne Town Square at Route N and Henke Road
•• Dardenne Prairie Presbyterian Church at Winghaven Boulevard and Route N
•• Schnucks Supermarket at 3029 Highway K
Some tips for the day:
•• The general public will not be allowed on the road to walk, run or bike until 11 a.m. because of the morning’s race.
•• Please do not bring pets, large coolers, alcohol or glass bottles.
•• Please do not bring motorized vehicles for the safety of attendees.
•• For bike riders, the road may be very crowded, so please give fellow attendees plenty of space.
When the entire stretch of the new $118 million Route 364/Page Phase 3 is open, it will be nine miles of four lane divided highway from Interstate 64 in Lake St. Louis to Route 94/Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Peters. The second stretch from Route K to Mid Rivers Mall Drive is set to open later this fall.
Funding for the new road is a cost-share project with MoDOT, St. Charles County and the local municipalities in St. Charles County. For more details on the project or the opening events, go to http://www.modot.org or http://www.sccmo.org/
